The Dutch weather offers a great variety: we actually do have hot summers and ice cold winters. Thats why the owners of Ijscuypje thought: we can't sell ice the whole year.  During wintertime the Dutch stay away from ice cream  because they eat a lot of stew, typical Dutch stews are: stamppot (with carrots and onions) or Boerenkool met worst (kale with sausage).
