First of all, if you are visiting Amsterdam and considering staying at the Vondel Hotel, do not check the Google maps - the sight shown there is not really up to date and somewhat discouraging. The establishment, located in a quiet street a block away from Leidseplein is of the better places to pick. The website claims the interior is newly renovated, and upon entering: it shows. The place is chic, with a warm and cozy feel (or, as the Dutch would put it, ‘gezellig’). Plenty of room types to choose from - whether you are a single on year's break from work, or married with children, there is something that suits your preferences in Vondel. The restaurant (Joost) caters both standard menu as well as special requests, and the collection of whisky in the bar is truly impressive.
Lovely garden, excellent location... What more could you want for a few day visit in Amsterdam?
